Team Leader - Day Programmes

Based in Christchurch:

  • Permanent part time role 

  • Riccarton based

  • Opportunity to make a real difference for our teams and the older persons/Kaumatua they support

  • 20-30 hours per week (flexibility for the right candidate) 

 

About the role

In this exciting new position, where you will provide support and leadership across the two Riccarton Enliven Older Persons Day Programmes teams for PSUSI. 

It is a hands-on leadership role which will require a collaborative approach backed with the relevant experience and qualifications to lead these teams through a period of change. Monthly one-to-ones and looking at how we live our Kaimana Korowai Values is part of the culture and ethos at PSUSI. 

You will establish and grow key relationships within the local community networks, have oversite of the teams managing the day to day functioning of the Harakeke and Tōtara Day Programmes and the facilities. Having a strategic approach to seek out new opportunities for growth within our services in conjunction with the Enliven Area manager is a key strength required for this role

You will live our values in how you work within the team and with the community (Aroha, Whakawhanaungatanga, Tikanga, Kaitiakitanga and Kotahitanga).

What we need from you

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have a health or social services tertiary qualification and practical clinical expertise 
  • Be a positive, hands on, experienced leader and coach with a proven track record in creating a strong team culture with employees and volunteers
  • The ability to empower people to develop and succeed with a suite of new IT systems 
  • Be passionate about supporting older persons to keep them connected and socially included 
  • Have exceptional communication, listening and relationship building skills
  • Possess excellent computer skills including Outlook, Internet, Microsoft applications and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, problem solving and be highly organised 
  • Have an innovative attitude and be willing to try new approaches e.g inter-generational opportunities
  • Be willing and excited to work with a diverse range of client groups including those with dementia 
  • Be able to manage confidential information with responsibility and integrity
  • Have a working knowledge of relevant legislations 

 

There will be scope to develop and the role and the skills of the successful candidate.

*Please note that this role falls under the Public Health Order for mandatory vaccination.
