The journey is just the beginning

Minivan driver

Do you have good driving skills? Would you like to transport older people/kaumātua to and from their day programmes in one of our minivans? You only need a Class 1 drivers licence and will be given on-the-job training and support.

Minivan assistant (no driving)

Yours may be the first friendly face our members see in the morning. Minivan assistants help our drivers transport clients to and from their day programmes. You will meet members at their front door, help them into the van, and socialise with them on their journey.

How you can help

  • Drive members to and from day programmes
  • Help members in and out of minivan
  • Socialise with members on the journey
  • Ensuring vehicle is clean and tidy before and after each journey

Time commitment

In North Canterbury our volunteer drivers work one full day per fortnight. Assistants work one half day per week in North Canterbury, Christchurch and Nelson. Contact us for more information.
