Need help to create an independent future?

Early adulthood can be a difficult time - so many changes and expectations. Sometimes things just don't work out as you had expected.

The Family Works Youth Service team can help you get back on track, heading towards a brighter, more independent future.

Who is eligible

 

You may be eligible for Youth Service support if:

  • You are 16 or 17, are single and can't live with your parents or guardian, or be supported by them any longer
  • You are between 16 and 19, have dependent children and need financial help
  • You are receiving Work and Income's Youth Payment or Youth Parent Payment

Youth Payment

The Youth Payment comes from Work and Income. If you’re 16 or 17, don’t have dependent children and need help financially, you may be eligible. 

Young Parent Payment

The Young Parent Payment also comes from Work and Income. If you’re between 16 and 18, have dependent children and need financial help, you may be eligible for it.

Our team will be your advocate, making sure you receive the assistance you're entitled to. We'll also support you to:

Complete your Youth Payment or Young Parent Payment application

Better manage your money

Assess and access education options

Stay healthy and well

Be a good parent
