COVID-19 Traffic Light system

New Zealand has now entered a new COVID-19 protection framework, known as the Traffic Light system and this will mean some changes for the country and for Presbyterian Support.

Everything we are doing is to protect our staff, volunteers and members, ensuring they can continue using our services. This includes our decision to be a fully vaccinated workforce - staff and volunteers.

We encourage everyone to be vaccinated for their own health and the safety of the community. If anyone requires support to be vaccinated, i.e. transport, or to obtain a Vaccine Pass, please contact us.

Orange setting

For the foreseeable future we will be operating under the Orange setting. Because the Vaccine Pass applies at our sites we will continue to work with our clients, whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated.

If clients are unvaccinated, our services will be delivered slightly differently.

Family Works

  1. All clients must make an appointment to visit our staff at one of our sites. When visiting they will be asked to confirm their vaccination status by showing their Vaccine Pass at our reception.
  2. If they are unvaccinated our team may offer to work with them over the phone or by Zoom, or meet them at a venue where a vaccine pass is not required. Face coverings must be worn at all times. Alternatively, if they wish to come into our site, they must make an appointment and when arriving they will need to wait outside until a staff member can assist them. If their Family Works contact is not waiting to greet them, they can text/phone them to let them know they have arrived. Alternatively, they can phone the number displayed on the sign at the main entrance.
  3. If attending a face-to-face group programme, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and other precautions will be taken to keep everyone safe.

Enliven

  1. Unvaccinated members will be unable to attend our large group day programmes. This is because there is a high risk of those members contracting COVID-19 due to our programmes returning to normal sessions with increased members in a close contact setting.
  2. We will provide alternative smaller gatherings/social outings for unvaccinated members where physical distancing can be maintained to keep everyone safe. Face coverings will be required.
  3. Vaccinated members will be encouraged to continue wearing face coverings to day programmes and HomeShare.
  4. Other safety measures we will be taking include:
  • Staff and volunteers wearing face coverings
  • Regular temperature checking on entry to our transport vans and buildings
  • Regular hand sanitising during the programme
  • Regular disinfectant cleaning of close contact surfaces in vehicles and buildings between sessions.

If a member or a household contact has flu-like symptoms, are waiting for COVID test results or receives a positive result, please let us know ASAP.

All enquiries should be made to either the relevant Family Works team member or the Enliven Team Leader.
