The Enliven Services exist to ensure that older New Zealanders have the access they need to community-based support - from someone to talk to, activities to join in with or help that will ensure a safe, healthy independence so they can continue to live at home. We believe that everyone has the right to age with dignity and to fully enjoy life.

Enliven provides a range of services that help keep older people/kaumātua socially connected and promote health and wellbeing. Our Enliven Day Programmes provide a safe and welcoming space for older people in the community to attend to socialise, participate in activities and share a meal with others. 

As a Day Programme Facilitator for our Harakeke Club, you will plan and facilitate activities and interactions within the Day Programme for older people living with dementia that are responsive to their needs and values.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an ideal applicant?)

Someone who will:

  • Hold a Level 4 certificate in Health & Wellbeing/Diversional Therapy/Occupational Therapist or have equivalent experience
  • Be experienced in working with older people at varied stages of dementia
  • Have relevant experience in facilitating varied activities and programmes for older people
  • Have well developed group facilitation experience
  • Understand the challenges and opportunities facing older people in the community
  • Have demonstrated strengths in listening and communication
  • Have a desire to assist older people to live at home with dignity and purpose
