Full time position - 40 hours per week

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ke tēnei mahi (About the position)

This role is key in providing support to our Rangitahi (young people) to assess their eligibility for the Youth Benefit Payment and ensure they are supported to meet the requirements of compliance with this. 

You will be responsible for helping them to identify and overcome barriers, and to influence positive changes in their lives. No two days are the same and you need to be resilient, innovative and have a passion for delivering outcomes that make a real difference in a young person’s life.

Someone who will:

  • Have experience working with youth and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing this demographic
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable (Social Work qualification an advantage)
  • Be aware of issues facing young people and understand youth culture
  • Have excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to handle conflict and challenging situations in an open and engaging manner
  • Be able to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of clients and community contacts
  • Have excellent computer skills and experience with client management documentation and systems
  • Demonstrate empathy and resilience
  • Have an openness to and enjoyment of differences in values, beliefs and cultural practices
  • Be able to pass a Vulnerable Children’s Safety check
  • Motivated and enthusiastic to make a difference in a Not for Profit environment
  • Has an understanding of, or a willingness to learn, the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Maintains a full, clean driver's licence
