Enliven HomeShare Host - Contractor

Based in Ashburton/Hakatere area: 

  • Contractor - working from home
  • Approximately 9hrs per month - delivered over two separate sessions per month (10am to 2.30pm): freedom to select your days.
  • An opportunity to make a difference, working with older people
  • Enliven/HomeShare Coordinator support

About the position / Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ke tēnei mahi

The aim of this role is to open your home to the older people connected with the Enliven HomeShare service in the Ashburton/Hakatere region. The HomeShare service offers a small group environment, hosted within a host's home, that meets the individual needs of a group of older people from within the community.

The programme has a focus on providing socialisation, meaningful activities, and a nutritious meal for older persons in a safe environment.

 

Who is an ideal applicant? Ko wai he kaitono tōtika?

Someone who will:

  • Have an understanding of, and interest in, working with a similar client base and an understanding of the range of needs and challenges influencing this group.
  • Previous experience working with older people, understanding the individual needs of clients with patience
  • Knowledge of planning and implementation of social programmes
  • Have excellent communication skills and a strong ability to develop relationships
  • A relevant Health or Social Service qualification is desirable
  • Full & clean driver's license
  • Have sound computer skills
  • Demonstrate empathy and resilience
  • Be willing and competent to work safely with a diverse range of cultures including Māori and Pacifica.
