Ko wai mātou (Who we are)

Presbyterian Support Upper South Island aims to create a better life for everyone. Our vision is for a compassionate, equitable and inclusive society. Through our social service brands, Enliven and Family Works, we are focused on whakawhanaungatanga and manaakitanga (relationships and hospitality) to help to build safer, stronger, more connected families and communities. This includes supporting older people to maintain their wellbeing and positive social connections as they age and helping tamariki, teens and families to learn, grow and thrive.

We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our everyday practice. Frontline kaimahi are expected to work in ways that uphold mana, support equitable outcomes for Māori, and strengthen whānau voice and participation. This includes building respectful relationships, demonstrating cultural humility, and engaging in practices that reflect partnership, protection, and participation.

Since July 2023, we have embraced a Co-Governance model at both the Board and senior leadership levels, reflecting our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and fostering shared responsibility in our leadership. We manaakitanga all those on a journey to embrace the use of te reo Māori and improve their capability in tikanga and encourage you to apply for this role.

We are proudly inclusive of all sexual orientations, genders, and abilities - we provide an inclusive safe space for all.

We have sites across the upper South Island covering the Tasman & Marlborough (Te Tau Ihu o te waka a Maui), West Coast (Te Tai Poutini) and Canterbury districts (Ōtautahi, Waimakariri & Hakatere).
