Ko wai mātou | About us
Presbyterian Support Upper South Island aims to create a better life for everyone. Our social services are focused on whakawhanaungatanga and manākitanga (relationships and hospitality) to help to build safer, stronger, more connected families and communities. This includes supporting older people to maintain their wellbeing and positive social connections as they age and helping tamariki, teens and families to learn, grow and thrive.
Since July 2023, we have embraced a Co-Governance model at both the Board and senior leadership levels, reflecting our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and fostering shared responsibility in our leadership. We manaakitanga all those on a journey to embrace the use of te reo Māori and improve their capability in tikanga and encourage you to apply for this role.
Our vision is for an equitable, compassionate, and inclusive society and our mission is to enhance the mana of children/tamariki, young people/rangatahi, families/whānau and older people/kaumātua to be safe, resilient, and connected. Kei te tae ana te ngākau - achieving a heart of love.
We are proudly inclusive of all sexual orientations, genders, and abilities - we provide an inclusive Safe Space for all.
We have sites across the upper South Island covering the Tasman & Marlborough (Te Tau Ihu o te waka a Maui), West Coast (Te Tai Poutini) and Canterbury districts (Ōtautahi, Waimakariri & Hakatere).
Whakataukī: Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi. With your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive.
